Calogero Gallo has been managing the gorgeous Kӧnigstein area restaurant with his wife Denise Von Bienenstamm for the past fifteen years. Lucullus is the expression of Italian authentic cuisine with a strong Sicilian influence. Every dish summons a piece of the Mediterranean island. The thick spaghetti from Gragnano served on a cream of leeks and carrots, dusted with tuna roe was highly notable, flavoursome, slightly spicy and the pasta cooking time pulled the dish together beautifully. Equally admirable were the Paccheri pasta with ‘nduja (spreadable spicy sausage), the buffalo stracciatella and the fried fior di cappero: generous gustatory sensations for a symbolic southern Italian dish. Excellent service and notably prestigious wine list.
