Il Casaro is a San Francisco magnet for lovers of pizza napoletana. Francesco Covucci, originally from Calabria, offers a well-made pizza with good quality raw materials, supported by a well-leavened and well-laid dough. Above all, we enjoyed the classic Margherita, cooked just right, and in which no ingredient prevails over the other and flavours are authentic and balanced or pizza calabrese with crushed cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and spicy calabrian 'nduja sausage. Well made also the norma version, with mozzarella, San Marzano, tomatoes, ricotta salata cheese and eggplant. Proper olive oil, about 20 wines to uncork, efficient service.
