The Montecchia family has been growing olives for around thirty years. Headed by Gennaro, it is one of the most important firms in the province of Teramo. It has 26,000 trees, new and old, in Morro d'Oro, at around 250 metres above sea level. They are spread over 80 hectares belonging to the family. Such large numbers of trees are needed to meet the growing demand from local and foreign markets.
