The CONAPI Italian national beekeepers' association was set up in 1978 by a group of young producers. Over time CONAPI has extended its products and the number of beekeepers throughout Italy. Approximately 2,500 tons of top wildflower and single-flower honey are sold in retail outlets and the HORECA circuit under the brand name Mielizia. Despite its large scale, CONAPI makes quality honeys, both organic and conventional. Some are typically Italian, some come in sachets, in squeezers, and in the state-of-the-art fully compostable paper packs.
