More than 100 years of presence on Italian tables may suffice to describe the history of the Parma company located in the heart of the Parma food valley. Founder Giovanni Mutti understood the importance of alternating crops, still applied today. In 1899, his grandson Marcellino founded F.lli Mutti in Basilicanova, with a facility dedicated to tomato processing. In 1951, with the launch of tomato paste in aluminium tubes, packaging that had so far only been used for toothpaste, the company soared to the top of the canning industry. Then, in 1971, with a finely-chopped tomato pulp, it consolidated its success. Mutti SpA today is the market leader in the concentrates and pulp segment, an area where quality is a fundamental value. The whole production chain is non-GM certified and today also includes tomato vinegar and ready sauces. In 2014, Mutti took over the Fiordagosto factory, in Salerno and gave the name to a new double paste. A production hub opened in Oliveto Citra.
