In the heart of Basso Monferrato, an area teeming with exceptional food products and towering wines, Mongetto is comprised of tracts of farmland, 16 hectares of vineyards and a charming, late 17th century agritourism facility called Dré Casté. But since the 1980s, Mongetto is most famous for having conquered our tastebuds with its gourmet, bottled produce. They are probably best known for their peperoncini peppers, stuffed with anchovies and capers, but it doesn't stop there. Their bagna cauda dip is outstanding. Then there's their line of produce bottled in oil (anchovies, artichokes, shallots and peppers), their various sauces (for example a 'bagnet' for stewed meat), capers and anchovies in salt, fruit preserves (including pumpkin, figs and quinces, which go perfectly with cheese), their jams, their surprising Moscato peaches with mint leaves, Martin Sec pears in Grignolino and their delicious grape mostarda.
