Passion and tradition for 147 years. Antonio Carpenè's brainchild was founded in 1868 to produce a sparkling wine from the grapes of the Conegliano and Valdobbiadene hills. It was the first to make fine prosecco using good quality, scientifically monitored production systems instead of the more empirical versions of the time. It is no coincidence that Antonio Carpenè perfected the Charmat method in Italy, applying it to prosecco with decisive and significant modifications. His love for the land, culture and wine led him to set up the Scuola Enologica in Conegliano Veneto. The longstanding commitment of this family, now in its fourth generation, is responsible for the first official Prosecco di Conegliano, written on the label back in 1924. Today Carpenè's leading products are still Prosecco DOC and DOCG (from Brut to Extra Dry) as well as fine quality spirits (grappa and brandy). The historical headquarters is at Conegliano Veneto and the cellar is at Follina. Since 2010 the business has worked with Gruppo Italiano Vini for distribution on the national market.
