This cheese producer gets its name from founder Luigi Oggionni, also known as the Cigno' (Swan'). In the 1930s, while still in his teens, he used to cross Brianna in a small Gilera delivery van selling local cheese. In the 1960s they shifted to production and today Cigno is a industry headquartered in Milan, operating in specialized retail, large scale and international distribution, but that still conserves an artisanal dimension. They produce mozzarella (for pizza and direct consumption), scamorza, ricotta and an excellent whipped mascarpone.
