This Apulian dairy and cheese producer was founded in 1942 by brothers Sebastiano and Francesco Capurso. Using the savings of their grandmother Paola, and with just a bicycle to transport the milk, they set up their workshop in the Gioia del Colle city center. Today they're specialized in the production of pasta filata cheeses: mozzarella, burrata, stracciatella, scarmorza and smoked cheeses, as well as ricotta, cacioricotta and other fresh cheese specialties. The high quality of Gioiella's products lies in their production approach and the quality of their milk, which comes from Bruna cows that graze in the semi-wild pastures of the Murgia Park.
