VINEYARD | The production area is in the Santacroce locality at 250 m above sea level on calcareous, volcanic, clay soil. The vineyard is called Pozzillo and the grapes are selected and harvested by hand. This is a plot of about 1.5 hectares of piedirosso within the property where mainly falanghina is produced. A historical Guyot vineyard, this variety has been produced here since the early 1980s, the winery was in fact one of the first to produce it in purity in the Sannio area.
PERSON | The winery is historic in the Sant'Agata dei Goti area, the Mustilli family came from Ravello (Republic of Amalfi). A recognised and precious heritage are the cellars dug into the tuff, 15 metres deep, under the family palace in the historic centre of town. Paola and Anna Chiara Mustilli lead the company anchored to tradition in the stylistic plan, preferring instead a more popular impact, also close to their personal passions, for communication and the more commercial and styling side of the labels.
WINE | Pure Pedirosso macerated and aged in handmade ceramic amphorae. The first vintage produced is 2015. On the nose, it releases intense scents of black and red fruit such as cherry and plum with a pleasant spiciness of white pepper. And again sage, thyme, lavender. In the mouth it enters savoury and then emphasises the fruit in the centre of the palate. Fresh and with a long persistence on the palate, it does not stop its metamorphosis of aromas that then intrigues with graceful smoky notes. Pleasant drinkability and juicy tannin.
