A solid and historic piece of traditional gastronomy in Padua, Da Nane della Giulia is a centrally located eatery affirmed over time (est. 1870) thanks in large part to a mostly loyal and local customer base. If you were to write a short manual on traditional regional cuisine (Padua in particular), very little to nothing would be lacking: "fasoi", bigoli, cabbage, folpetti, soppressa, cheeses, cod ... and the list could go on and on. One area that Da Nane della Giulia stands out for is in drawing on ingredients from trusted, local markets and shops (an approach they call "chilometro vero"). Their best wines hail from the greater regional production zone, that is, the area once known as "the Venezie".
The best trattorias/bistrots are marked with 1,2,3 shrimps according to their quality grades.
