Sitauted in the splendid Piazza Marconi, in the Montebelluna town center, Bernardi has the atmosphere of a well-maintained, tidy pastry shop and café where elegant period furnishings and a pleasant outdoor dining area stand out. Founded in 1877, it's a member of the Locali Storici d'Italia association and owes its fame to its desserts and pastries (for which it's known throughout the city). Their repertoire includes mini pastries (bavarois, cannoncini, panna cotta with fruit and many others), biscuits (including baci di dama, colombine or traditional zaeti), cakes (try those hailing from the Central European culinary tradition, like Sachertorte or Linzer) and excellent semifreddos. The rest of the food and drink on offer is just as good, starting with their coffee. A blend from a small, local roastery, it's well brewed, making for a creamy, full-bodied espresso. Pleasant aperitifs, accompanied by a valid set of savory treats, complete the picture.
