VINEYARD | The grapes come from the vineyards of Paratico, the last town on the Brescia side where the winery is also based. The Pinot Nero vineyards, overlooking Lake Iseo, are between 15 and 30 years old and are managed without any chemical products, only copper and sulphur, in full respect of the environment. The cuvée in question is dedicated to grandfather Pietro Camossi, founder of the company. The second fermentation of all cuvées is made with the must of the same grapes, without adding sucrose, according to the SoloUva method. The Riserva in question ferments in steel vats and then ages on the lees for 106 months. In the proposed range, we also wish to point out an exciting Franciacorta Extra Brut CR149 from 2008, in this case made from chardonnay and pinot bianco grapes.
PEOPLE | Dario and Claudio Camossi, passionate winemakers, carry on the family business founded by their grandfather Pietro at the beginning of the XX century with determination and foresight. The Camossis work only the fruit of their vineyards, 30 hectares, divided between Erbusco, where the cellar is also located, Paratico, from which the pinot nero comes, and Provaglio d'Iseo, above all in the hamlet of Provezze. From 2019, the cuvées started resting in the new cellar, completely underground.
WINE | Disgorgement in August 2021. Pietro Camossi '11 is a very deep Blanc de Noirs, scented of black tea, red fruits and licorice. On the palate it is broad, articulated, deep, fleshy, combining fullness of taste and vitality. The bubble is fine and infiltrating, for an articulated progression and a very long finish between tones of toasted almonds, a vivid savoury vein and a clear and delicious fruity return. It still has plenty of energy to improve with further rest in the bottle.
