The cooperative grew out of beekeeping experiences that the Caboni family developed in 1995, inspired by grandfather Salvatore's skills. He was the first to use frame hives and a drip-system honey melter, with other innovations to enhance processing, quality of honey and, above all, bee welfare. In 2001, organic certification arrived. The many types of honey include asphodel, strawberry tree, and eucalyptus, but the most noteworthy are those from Mediterranean maquis; thistle; and orange. Many other products include honey and mead sapa.
