Granarolo

Description

The Granarolo group includes two different but synergic businesses: Granlatte, a consortium of milk producers, and a public limited company, Granarolo Spa. It is Italy's leading milk chain, based on an integrated production system. It was founded in 1957, near Bologna, by a small cooperative. Now it has 12 production facilities located throughout Italy. In the 1970s and 1980 it grew and strengthened over time, also abroad, acquiring production branches of other dairy companies. There followed internationalization and export, with subsidiaries in various parts of the world. The latest acquisition was Gennari Spa (Parmigiano Reggiano, Grana Padano, Prosciutto Crudo di Parma), in addition to Yomo, Accadì, Pettinicchio, Ferruccio Podda, Pinzani, Croce di Magara, Amalattea, and the Calabria, Perla, Casa Azzurra, Bioleche, and Granarolo dairies. Its products cover the entire dairy product range. In the last two years it has added about 20 new items, including desserts, butter, eggs, béchamel sauce, and ice cream.
