Malpighi

Description

Since 1850, the name Malpighi has stood for traditional Balsamic vinegar, with five generations of family dedicating their life to making and selling this product 'par excellence'. Their selection is impressive: the Ermes Malpighi has been aged more than 30 years, then there's the Affinato, the Extra Vecchio, the Riserva Ciliegio, Riserva Ginepro, and Riserva Secolare (a 'meditation' vinegar). Let's not overlook their Balsamic-based condiments: the Saporos and Prelibato (both of which are available in aged varieties), the Gustoso, sauces and toppings, all available in alluring packaging. For those who are interested in knowing more, it's possible to book free guided visits at Tenuta del Cigno (just outside Modena), where you can visit their vineyards, the old vinegar factory and the area where the vinegar is aged (the barrel warehouses, which store about three thousand barrels, some of which go back to the Napoleonic period). You can then taste and purchase any of a variety of products. There's also a showroom near Palazzo Ducale, in the heart of Modena.
