This company was the brainchild, in 1886, of Ernesta and Costante Villani. Today there are five production plants between Bassa and Friuli, in the PDO and IGP zones. The fifth generation of the family is now in charge of what is Italy?s oldest charcuterie business, nationally renowned in the sector. The artisan spirit behind its origins and a strong connection with the land have always been ingredients of company philosophy. Today Villani produces an excellent range of products: starting with its ?crus?, Prosciutto di San Daniele and Prosciutto di Parma 24 Mesi; pancetta and culatello; PDO and IGP charcuterie (some gluten-free); cooked hams, mortadella, sliced meats and other delicatessen specialities. There is also the Poderi Santa Maria del Tiepido line of EVO, balsamic vinegar and Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro. Villani recently acquired the Maletti brand, which specializes in charcuterie production and fine food hampers.
