Located on the ninth floor of the Romeo Luxury Hotel in Naples, the restaurant of chef Alain Ducasse will bring his philosophy to the city, embodying the concept of "cuisine de la naturalité." The opening is scheduled for June 6, and reservations are already available on the hotel's website. There is no new information regarding the opening in Rome, which is expected by 2024 but without any specific indication.
The type of cuisine Ducasse will bring to Naples
No major changes are expected for the Neapolitan menu compared to his style, which intertwines French haute cuisine with contemporary influences and a focus on plant-based ingredients. The hotel's website states: "Each of my restaurants tells its own unique story that expresses the soul of the city it is in." This suggests a fusion with Campanian culinary tradition. The pastry, solidly grounded in French tradition, will also be featured during breakfast.
His visit to Naples a year ago
"You are lucky to live here; you don't realize what nature offers with extraordinary products like fish, legumes, fruit, a 'Mediterranean' essence that characterizes the excellence of the territory," he had stated to Ansa in May 2023 during his visit to the Campanian capital, precisely on the occasion of the presentation of the partnership with entrepreneur Alfredo Romeo.
Spaces at the Romeo Napoli Hotel
As already anticipated by Gambero Rosso last year, the spaces of the Neapolitan structure are meticulously curated and embellished with a private collection of about 100 works by Mario Schifano and Andy Warhol, pieces by Francesco Clemente, Mimmo Jodice, Renato Guttuso, and many others. In the restyling of the past year, works by Christophe Tixier, Mimmo Paladino, Marc Chagall, Christian Leperini were added, along with new architectural interventions by the Hadid studio on the previous project.
