From 4th to 6th April, the excellence of Italian wine will be represented at Vinitaly and The City by some of the best labels selected from the Guida Vini d’Italia 2025. With Vinitaly 2025, Veronafiere becomes the heart of the wine business, while also hosting a variety of wine-themed events. Meanwhile, the city of Verona comes alive with happenings outside the exhibition halls, including tastings of some of the finest Italian wines selected by Gambero Rosso.
The Gambero Rosso tasting
On this occasion, Gambero Rosso will host a special Wine Tasting in the evocative setting of the Cortile del Tribunale di Verona, featuring a selection of top labels from over 70 wineries, many of which have been awarded the prestigious Tre Bicchieri. This event offers an alternative and informal way to experience the most important wine fair, allowing professionals to do business while enjoying tastings of outstanding wines throughout the city of Verona.
The labels from participating wineries will be available throughout the event. It is a unique opportunity to meet key figures in the Italian wine industry, from renowned wineries to emerging small producers, embarking on a journey through iconic denominations and undiscovered territories.
The walk-around tasting will allow visitors to explore the best of Italian wine production, from native to international grape varieties. It provides an alternative way to experience the industry's most significant fair, blending business and conviviality in a relaxed atmosphere.
Vinitaly and The City: wine, culture, and entertainment
For enthusiasts, there will also be dedicated masterclasses featuring great Italian wines, such as those from the Campania Region (Saturday, 5th April at 3:00 PM) and Calabria Region (Saturday, 5th April at 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM). The Wine Talks will also take place, bringing three days of discussions, tastings, and storytelling about wines from different Italian regions to the Lounge Flover in Cortile Mercato Vecchio.
Additionally, literary meetings will be held in collaboration with Feltrinelli, alongside a series of performances that will bring the flavours and culture of various Italian regions to Verona. This will also be an opportunity to discover Verona and its history through guided tours of the city’s most fascinating locations.
Guida Vini d’Italia 2025: the industry’s benchmark
Italy’s most authoritative wine guide reaches its 38th edition. The result of the work of over 70 tasters, Vini d’Italia 2025 reviews more than 25,000 wines produced by 2,605 wineries.
In addition to wine descriptions, the guide provides detailed information on each winery: addresses, contacts, vineyard size, number of bottles produced, type of viticulture (conventional, organic, biodynamic, or natural), and possibilities for visits and purchases at the winery.
Each label is accompanied by its average retail price and an evaluation based on Gambero Rosso’s renowned rating system, ranging from one to the prestigious Tre Bicchieri, a symbol of excellence. This year, 498 labels have received the highest accolade, reaffirming the extraordinary quality of Italian wine.
