In a lively area near the Mercato Trionfale, Bianca Trattoria has been making waves for over a year. Recently, it earned the Campioni della Tradizione (Champions of Tradition) award in the Rome and the Best of Lazio 2025 guide

A star Chef and a traditional venture. Davide Del Duca is no stranger to food lovers in Rome. Known for Osteria Fernanda, located near Trastevere Station, Del Duca has spent the last 15 years building a reputation for blending creativity with a hearty and enjoyable approach to cuisine. With a trusted team by his side, in May 2023, he launched Bianca Trattoria, a cosy and classic restaurant focused on traditional cooking—mainly Roman dishes, but with room for other inspirations. This dedication has earned the trattoria a place among the eight Champions of Tradition for its amatriciana in the Gambero Rosso guide.

As with his previous ventures, Del Duca is not working solo. Joining him are Manuela Mengoni and Andrea Marini, who manage the dining room, and Luca Carucci, who oversees the kitchen. Together, they’ve created a modern yet welcoming trattoria offering authentic, satisfying cuisine.

The menu

While the menu changes with the seasons, the amatriciana remains a constant—a signature dish and a point of pride. At Bianca Trattoria, seasonal colours enrich the dishes, while some classics hold their place on the menu year-round. The kitchen shines with its selection of artisanal ingredients and a focus on balance—delivering flavourful dishes without overloading on richness.

Del Duca’s amatriciana is a standout, made with exceptional ingredients like DOP San Marzano tomatoes, Benedetto Cavalieri bucatini, and aromatic guanciale from Re Norcino.

Other Roman classics are executed to perfection, including polpette di bollito and gricia. The menu also features delights from other regional traditions, such as vitello tonnato and mozzarella in carrozza, alongside innovative twists like ravioli stuffed with peppers, olives, capers, and burrata, or beef tartare with hazelnut and raspberry. The wine list celebrates small Italian producers, with a strong emphasis on natural and organic wines. Guests can expect attentive, courteous service that enhances the experience of this delightful trattoria.
