Italy Restaurant Guide 2025: all the special awards

As usual, this year the Gambero Rosso Italy Restaurant Guide has also awarded the Special Prizes, 22 in total with two new additions. Here they are

There are 22 Special Awards in the 2025 edition of the Gambero Rosso Italy Restaurant Guide, including two new ones compared to last year: Chocolate. The surprising pairing and The most beautiful cellar to visit.

The Newcomer of the Year is another accolade for the great Bottura family, with recognition going to Gatto Verde in Modena, while the Emerging Chef is Antonio Lerro of Riva Restaurant at the View Place Hotel, another excellent entry from the Marche region, scoring 84 points.

The best wine lists belong to two restaurants and one trattoria: Il Capanno in Spoleto, already a Tre Gamberi winner. Pascucci al Porticciolo also earns a double award, as one of the seven Tre Forchette in Lazio and this year’s Best dining room service.

Additionally, there are two Best vegetarian proposals, from Campania and Puglia, reflecting how central vegetable gardens are becoming in chefs' thinking. The “historic” Best value for money award has also grown. In the past, it was a selection of no more than 10 establishments across Italy; this year, it includes 20, one for each region, marked with the new “smile” symbol, one of the graphic innovations in the Gambero Rosso Italy Restaurant Guide 2025.
