A great Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo at a very friendly price comes from the Colline Teatine. It is produced by a family-run winery founded in the late 1970s, which today boasts a significant vineyard heritage between the Majella mountains and the Adriatic Sea

In recent years, the Abruzzese wine scene has been buzzing with activity, with small and micro artisan wineries emerging like mushrooms. These new players have often managed to deliver delightful surprises in the region’s key denominations, from Trebbiano d'Abruzzo to Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. Alongside these newcomers, we also find well-established names that continue to improve their offerings year after year. Among them is Tenuta I Fauri.

Valentina and Luigi Di Camillo are the driving forces behind this family business, founded by their father, Domenico, in the late 1970s. While Valentina focuses on promotion and hospitality in the new guest facility in Villamagna, Luigi takes care of transforming the harvest into a wine range that speaks loud and clear of Abruzzo. Over the years, they have assembled a significant vineyard estate, strategically located between the Majella and the Adriatic, with parcels scattered across the municipalities of Chieti, Francavilla al Mare, Miglianico, Villamagna, Bucchianico, and Ari. The estate's approximately 35 hectares of vineyards, certified organic since 2021, are exclusively dedicated to native grape varieties: Montepulciano, Pecorino, Trebbiano, and Passerina.

Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo Baldovino '23 - Tenuta I Fauri

The best value-for-money wine in Abruzzo according to the Berebene 2025 Guide

This year, Valentina and Luigi of Tenuta I Fauri presented one of the most complete and solid line-ups in the region. The wines we tasted were expressive, deeplytiedtotheirterroir, andneverpredictable — qualities that we also found in the Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo Baldovino '23. Its fleshy fruit is complemented by almost balsamic nuances, while the palate is crisp, lively, and irresistibly enjoyable.

In the Berebene 2025 guide by Gambero Rosso, we awarded it the prize for the Best Value-for-Money Wine in the Region. Additionally, it earned Due Bicchieri Rossi in the Vini d'Italia 2025 guide by Gambero Rosso, having reached the finals in the tasting sessions.
