The new summer space is named Wunder Kong, created by Patrick Pistolesi and the Wunder Bar team, "a group that does a lot in the nightlife scene like us." Together, they have taken this spot close to the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma and the Bioparco with the Lipu Wildlife Rescue Centre. "We got the space just a week ago," says Patrick Pistolesi, "and tonight we open." The space in question is at Via Ulisse Aldrovandi 1, an outdoor area in a green setting, surrounding a beautiful monumental pool equipped with tables and seating. "We've had our eye on this place for a while," confides an enthusiastic Pistolesi, excited about bringing his outdoor drinks here until the end of September. "We're trying to bring a bit of international flair to the Roman summer," he explains. They are bolstered by visibility that extends beyond national borders, thanks in part to accolades in the most important global rankings.
What to drink at Wunder Kong
The offering is simple: a dozen drinks, including two non-alcoholic and two pre-batch options, selected from the most beloved ones from their phenomenal drink lists over the years, which have developed various themes - Reflection, New Humans, Perimeter, and Shape - always a core element of Kong's identity. Naturally, there are also classic cocktails and a wine list curated by General Manager Lorenzo Mancusi, with sparkling wines taking the lead. The food offering is still being finalized - "we believe a lot in food & drink" - and will probably feature small bites designed to accompany the sips. The rest will be distinctly Kong, from the glasses to the drink presentation and attention to detail.
Entertainment will also be Kong-themed, following the lead of the Nite Kong side project by the Drink Kong family, which includes Claudia Gianvenuti, known for initiatives like L-Ektrica and the Spring Attitude Festival. The program will feature live music, primarily jazz, and DJ sets. A schedule will be available soon, but in the meantime, it kicks off daily from 7 PM to 2 AM, starting on July 17.
