Around midnight the shutters of restaurants and trattorias close. By two o'clock, the working hours of most pubs, wine bars, cocktail bars and bistros ends. And after that? While much of the city sleeps, the fun continues in some places that have chosen the night as a privileged moment.
Here is where to go in Rome after 2 a.m.
Private clubs, speakeasies, large cocktail bars: the Roman night is made up of refined atmospheres, hidden behind unsuspecting doors. We recommend the best addresses in the capital.
Argot
If we say that the opening hours of this cocktail bar near Campo de' Fiori are from 10pm (and until 4am) it’s already clear that this is a place with a rarefied, curious, nocturnal allure. One enters through a secluded and anonymous doorway to find oneself in a retro ambience in which mixology is the protagonist. Among classic drinks, twists and house creations, there is much to discover. Warm welcome. Entrance reserved for Arci members.

Jerry Thomas Speakeasy
It was Roberto Artusio, Leonardo Leuci, Antonio Parlapiano and Alessandro Procoli who revolutionised the Rome mixology scene almost three decades ago with their speakeasy hidden in an alley behind Corso Vittorio. Since 2010 they have come a long way, the Jerry Thomas has become a national and international reference, and the group has expanded its business with new branches. This always remains the core of the project, constantly growing in research and proposal. Not to be missed. Time 9.00-4.30 pm.

Rem
Still wandering around Trastevere, the most impenitent night owls come across this bar that opens at 10pm and closes at 5am: the team is the same one already in play with CoSo al Pigneto, namely Giulia Castellucci, Riccardo Bucci and Benedetto Guarino, who have created an elegant and reserved ambience here. As the sign suggests, the drinks are inspired by the stages of sleep. Among the proposals is the Coffee Break, with Bourbon whiskey, Cognac, muscovado syrup, fake tobacco bitter and coffee. Rem is a private club to which one must subscribe, on the website all the indications.
