Cilento remains one of the most popular destinations for both Italian and foreign tourists, and this is a fact. This is thanks to its particularly pleasant landscape ("cinematic," as it were), featuring sea, countryside, and mountains, despite the winding roads - albeit extraordinarily scenic - and the not always efficient connections. Gastronomy also plays a significant role: let's not forget that the Mediterranean Diet was born here, and vegetables, greens, pasta, cured meats, cheeses, fish, and meats constitute a rich agricultural heritage that gives life to a genuine and tasty peasant-origin cuisine. To fully enjoy the virtues of this area with its extraordinary resources, also in terms of outdoor sports, excursions, and tastings of typical products, there is nothing better than treating yourself to a stay in one of the many agriturismos in the area. Here are the best according to us.
The best agriturismos in Cilento
Fattoria Alvaneta
A beautiful estate in the heart of the Cilento, Vallo di Diano, and Alburni National Park, which is a certified organic farm, estate, and agriturismo with comfortable rooms. Almost all the raw materials that end up on the table are the result of the farm’s own cultivation and livestock. Meats, cheeses, and cured meats are processed in-house, while vegetables, greens, and fruits are also turned into delicious preserves and jams. There’s also good honey. This bounty is enjoyed at the restaurant in the form of simple and flavorful dishes, and homemade desserts. Booking is recommended.

Casa Gasparro
A family-run business in the heart of the Cilento hills. The environment is rustic as expected, with genuine and homemade cuisine prepared with the farm's products. Do not miss the meats of the Antica Razza Pelatella (meatballs, cured meats, ziti with pork rind), an indigenous pig breed with tender and flavorful meat, as well as oven-roasted rabbit and chicken alla cacciatora. The Gasparro family also produces oil, wine, honey, and other specialties.

Isca delle Donne
Run by the Merola family for generations, this is a farm with a vineyard, educational farm, and agritourism. It welcomes guests in three rustic houses renovated a few years ago and offers homemade cuisine made with self-produced ingredients, including homemade bread and pasta, cured meats, cheeses, meats, and many seasonal vegetables. In the second building, there is a cellar and a shop. Certified by the Italian Celiac Association (AIC).

I Moresani
The "Cilento experience" here is tailored to the guest: bike rides, trekking, cooking classes, massages, yoga, tastings… there is something for everyone. Guests stay in rooms and apartments scattered throughout the village, as well as in the main structure. In the dining room with a fireplace, typical genuine dishes are enjoyed, made with the farm's organic products, a true oasis of relaxation in the green Cilento countryside.

Porta Sirena
This agriturismo is part of the Jemma farm: buffalo from the Sele Plain, Paestum artichokes, and other garden vegetables, meats from the farm’s livestock, and wines from a well-stocked cellar. The restaurant offers great satisfaction, and the green surroundings - and the location 400 meters from the archaeological area - make the facility ideal for relaxing stays but also for weddings, ceremonies, and important events thanks to the large and well-kept garden with a pool.

Zio Cristoforo
Located about one and a half kilometers from the sea. It offers parking, comfortable and quiet rooms, apartments, a pool, a playground for children, bike rentals, and Wi-Fi (only at the reception). The restaurant, open to external guests, offers solid and flavorful cuisine, based largely on farm-produced ingredients. It is possible to purchase the farm’s products on-site: extra virgin olive oil, cured olives, goat cheeses (primarily Cacioricotta, a Slow Food Presidium), preserves.
