In autumn, Alba is synonymous with white truffle: here is a selection of standout local dining spots to savor this gem of Piedmontese cuisine

The Langhe, Roero, and Lower Piedmont regions are a truffle lover's paradise. Alba, in particular, has long been considered the home of the most prized truffle of all: the white truffle. From 12 October to 8 December 2024, Alba will host the 94th edition of the International Alba White Truffle Fair. The World Alba White Truffle Auction, held since 1999 at the Grinzane Cavour Castle, will take place this year on Sunday, 10 November. For those planning autumn trips, we have curated a list of the finest trattorias in Alba and nearby, where you can enjoy dishes and menus centered around the white truffle.
