The wine of the future: Gambero Rosso Academy launches first course for Industry Professionals

Advanced training in four online modules, totaling 160 hours. Lectures will be given by experts, technicians, scholars, and academics under the scientific direction of Professor Attilio Scienza. The aim is to teach the work method known as "design thinking."

New developments at Gambero Rosso Academy, which is launching a new advanced training course for industry professionals, enriching the overall training offering. It’s called "The Wine of the Future: New Skills for New Scenarios," (Il vino del futuro: nuove competenze per nuovi scenari ) with scientific direction by Professor Attilio Scienza, a professor of viticulture at the University of Milan. The goal is to train wine industry professionals in the "Design Thinking" work method, which allows for the rapid identification of innovative and digital solutions, reduction of business risks, and interpretation of new trends, thereby creating value for the company, the market, and stakeholders.

Four months for 160 hours of online training

The course will run for four months, in an online format, totaling 160 hours of training divided into four modules, with a teaching staff selected in collaboration with Italian universities and research centers. Scholars, experts, and academics will be leading the lectures. Four in-person seminars are also planned at prestigious venues. The primary target audience for this new course from Gambero Rosso Academy includes entrepreneurs, oenologists, agronomists, sales staff, journalists, and communication operators.

Training modules

In detail, the first module (40 hours) is dedicated to the enhancement of territories, starting from the varietal and pedoclimatic resources of Italian viticulture, covering environmental sustainability, the role of oenology, environmental vocation, and the market. The second module focuses on innovation and development, addressing new frontiers in genetic improvement, vineyard adversities, and innovative defense techniques; it also includes precision viticulture and space economy. The third module, also 40 hours, centers on society and the market: lessons will focus on the anthropology of consumption, alcohol and society, and wines for new markets, for a total of 20 hours of learning. Finally, the fourth module will examine communication: from new languages to storytelling, from social networks to the values of culture in communication. Participants will need to pass a quiz of ten multiple-choice questions at the end of each lesson, eventually earning a certificate from Gambero Rosso Academy.
