Tre Bicchieri 2024. Alta Langa’s best sparkling wine
The magical moment for Piedmontese wine continues. You realise that things are going well when the market forgives you of any mistakes, perhaps due more to some clumsy choices than to wrong production directions. The Piedmont of wine continues to grind ahead even if at times it does so to the detriment of the highest integrity of the machine; the important thing is to keep going and never stop. Among the territories/denominations that continue to show a positive trend is undoubtedly Alta Langa, on whose classic method sparkling wine we focus here.
The Alta Langa Docg spumante (sparkling wine) - produced not only in the Langhe, but also in Monferrato - is mainly made from pinot noir and chardonnay grapes and can only be produced in the millesimé version, which means that each wine must come from grapes of a single harvest. In 2002 came the recognition of DOC, in 2011 the DOCG one. The vineyards, as established by the regulations, must be on hillsides at an altitude of at least 250 metres above sea level.
Here the 3 Alta Langa Spumante that we have awarded in the Vini d’Italia 2024 guide
