The tastings for the Gambero Rosso *Vini d'Italia 2025* guide have confirmed the high-quality standard of Alto Adige wines and the diverse complexity of its production system. Here's the list of winners, including an interesting new entry

In the Italian wine landscape, Alto Adige stands out as one of the crown jewels, a region where the connection between winemaker, land, and grape variety is reflected in an array of top-tier wines. This year, 24 wines from the region received the prestigious Tre Bicchieri award in the Vini d'Itali guide, a number that captures the intricate complexity of Alto Adige’s wine production.

In Alto Adige, diverse production realities coexist, from small winemakers producing from just a few hectares, to large cooperative structures, historic provincial wineries, and smaller vineyards contributing their grapes to wineries. What remains consistent, however, is the meticulous care taken in vineyard management and the careful attention to all winemaking processes, aiming to produce wines that reflect the radiance of this region.

Looking at the extensive list of award-winning Alto Adige wines, we encounter a broad and multifaceted selection of grape varieties. Notably, red wines have seen an increase in recognition compared to last year. Alongside three elegant and captivating Pinot Noirs from Cantina Merano, Tenuta Pfitscher, and San Michele Appiano, three robust Lagrein wines proudly stand out: the vigorous Riserva '21 from Georg Ramoser’s Untermoserhof, the solid Taber Riserva '22 from Cantina Bozen, and the powerful Vigna Klosteranger Riserva '20 from Muri Gries.

Rounding out the strong showing for red wines are two Schiava-based wines: the Santa Maddalena Vigna Premstallerhof from Tenuta Hans Rottensteiner and Lago di Caldaro Quintessenz from Cantina Kaltern, along with a bold Cabernet Sauvignon, the Freienfeld Riserva '20 from Cantina Kurtatsch.
