Cantina Ferrari for Formula 1
In a moment of crisis and uncertainty, the Lunelli family raises the challenge and looks beyond. For the first time, an Italian sparkling wine will be toasted on the podium of all the Grand Prix races of the Formula 1 World Championship. Cantina Ferrari has in fact signed an official partnership agreement for the coming three years to celebrate the victories of the best pilots on the podium with a Jeroboam of Trentodoc. An important signal of confidence for the future for one of the most celebrated brands of Italian winemaking. Ferrari obtained 31 Tre Bicchieri, our highest recognition on the Wines guide, without counting the achievements of the estates in Umbria and Tuscany.
“We have always been close to the world of sport. I was sitting in Santiago Bernabeu stadium on that magical World Cup final, and it was celebrated on the field with a bottle of Ferrari. We are linked to the tennis internationals tournament in Rome, to the world ski championships, Juventus celebrated all the last championship victories with our bubbles. We are preparing for the challenge in the America's Cup final with Luna Rossa. And we are now proud to announce this Formula 1 partnership. We will bring some of our art of living and Italian style to podiums around the world," commented Matteo Lunelli, President and CEO of the Group. This strengthens the bond of an important surname, which embraces two different stories. In 1902 Giulio Ferrari founded the Ferrari winery in Trento. In 1929, in Modena, Enzo Ferrari founded the Scuderia Ferrari. A case of homonymy that brings together two of the most celebrated Italian excellences in the world. “We will work strongly on communication, it will not be just the final celebration, but many forms of collaboration,” he continued.
Sparkling wine sector
The sparkling wine sector suffered particularly during the pandemic. "Bubbles are conviviality, the opposite of social distancing. We were hit hard, but we decided to start over with an ambitious project, because we believe in the future, in the development of our brand and in our path that started more than 100 years ago. We can't wait to get started." During the presentation of the project, Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1 also spoke: “It will be a collaboration that will go beyond the bottle that wets the podium, but rather many official moments that accompany the race. As an Italian, I am very happy and I am convinced that this partnership can represent a great opportunity not only for Ferrari but for all Italian wine. It's the first time that an Italian winery is an official sponsor, after so many years of Champagne, a change from tradition." The first change of direction will start from the Italian race: the maiden voyage will take place at the Imola Grand Prix scheduled for April 18th.
