What is wine vault
A temperature and humidity controlled vault, consisting of 90 wine lockers and 3 wine rooms for a total capacity of 5 thousand bottles. We're talking about the Milano Wine Vault, the first Italian storage structure, designed for individuals and companies for the storage and display of rare and precious wines. The novelty, newly inaugurated on via Angelo Morbelli 7, is the work of WineTip wine merchant born 20 years ago in Milan from an idea of a group of friends: Massimo Cassamagnaga, Fabrizio Cimiotta, Alberto Cristofori and Federico Pedrazzi.
How it works
Access is allowed only with a security code and each storage unit, including rooms and lockers, has a lock with a password held by WineTip managers. It is therefore possible to enter the vault only in the presence of a member of the staff. All the bottles stored in the premises are registered and catalogued, as well as any entry or exit of pieces from the storage units, also for insurance purposes. The service is aimed at enthusiasts and collectors, but also for those intending to market their own bottles. WineTip experts, in fact, offer advice for the evaluation and possible marketing of wines stored in the lockers or in the rooms. It's also possible to organise on-site tastings, dinners with show cooking by a chef, or private meetings.
Where does such an idea come from? "Wine collectors are on the rise," explains Alberto Cristofori, WineTip co-founder & partner, "but often they do not know where to keep their bottles, or don't have an adequate structure. Thanks to WineTip, today this place exists and is located in the centre in Milan. So enthusiasts and collectors alike can keep their wines at controlled temperature and humidity, and show their treasures to friends or customers."
