Antonio Gavino Fois opened his Antica Compagnia Olearia 1860, and it is now a leading estate in Alghero, northern Sardinia, with over 170 hectares of olive trees, some estate-owned and others rented. The most widely grown variety is bosana, which finds its ideal terroir here, but the company is experimenting with others, like semidana, another of the island's top varieties. Excellent value for money.
