Founded as La Foce by Antonio and Irisi Dorigo more than 90 years ago, at a time when the Val d'Orcia had a very small population and was little known, the estate was split between the two daughters, and Donata went on to develop the Chiarentana section. As well as producing oil, which is made entirely on site thanks to an in-house olive press, the estate also boasts an agritourism with 35 guest rooms and part of the land is set aside for growing wheat.
