The 200 hectares in the heart of Chianti Classico are owned today by Paul Patrice Tavarella. This very attractive estate is documented as far back as the 15th century. It is thought that the Vignamaggio landscape provided the background for Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa. Alongside the 60 hectares of vineyards there are 30 hectares of groves with 5,000 olive trees of traditional Chianti cultivars: frantoio, leccino, moraiolo and pendolino, open-centre pruned and organically farmed since 2014.
