Caffè Florian

Closing time:

Description

Italy's first historic café and a veritable institution in the city, since 1720 Caffè Florian has animated Piazza San Marco with its expanse of outdoor tables, elegant waiters in white jackets, piano music in the background, original interior decorations and mirrors that invite you to enter. Here Venetians and tourists alike coexist happily, the former prefering the counter, the latter sitting down to admire the beauty of the Basilica or the charming interiors. Some come just for a coffee, adroitly prepared with house blends and served on a silver tray. Florian's trademark is the "Caffè alla Veneziana", prepared with Caffè Florian liqueur and whipped cream. You can extend your stay with a pleasant croissant, biscuit, scone or macaron. Hot chocolate is a source of pride. Snacks include tramezzini, savory croissant sandwiches, club sandwiches and quiches. When it comes time for an aperitif, both at noon and in the evening, Bellini and Spritz are in high demand, but martini lovers won't be able to resist the elegant service, with cocktails served on a silver tray. The prices are worth the unforgettable experience.
