Caffè Pedrocchi

When visiting the city for the first time it's hard not to plan a stop at this historic venue (Caffè Pedrocchi turned 190 in 2021). But the latest generation of management, which took over in 2014, hasn't rested on its laurels or on the prestige brought by the café's magnificent historical spaces, which bear the traces of events and episodes from a distant past. Renovations have restored its ancient beauty and paved the way for new fittings and services. The café's signature product is coffee topped with cream and mint (to drink without stirring), all sprinkled with cocoa and served in a large cup. The overall quality of their espressos and cappuccinos is high. They're accompanied by an excellent assortment of baked goods, cakes and single-serving treats for a delicious snack. Those who prefer savory foods won't be disappointed by their house sandwiches, though there are also well-prepared local dishes. Enjoy the aperitif, which is enlivened by courteous service.
