A family-style Italian restaurant inside a converted banking hall modelled as a Florentine Palazzo. Opened in 2004, Contini George street is now runned by Victor and Carina Contini, the third generation Italian Scots. Some ingredients come directly from the family farm in Ciacca, Lazio, including extra virgin olive oil, wine and preserves. The menu changes every month with the season, with big attention on homemade pasta and simple and tasty recipes to share. Meals start with some fragrant arancini, then continue with generous ossobuco served with mashed potatoes and salsa verde, or fresh lobster. Don’t miss the homemade focaccia. The wine list has about 40 wines sold by the glass and by the bottle. Plus, a range of limited wines that we are served from the magnum.
