La Bottega Gigi Pipa is a delicious new venue (a spin-off of the famous pizzeria of the same name in via Corradini) situated in the heart of Este. In early 2021 Alberto Morello, a young interpreter of contemporary pizza, decided to diversify the range of food on offer by opening a second location in the city. The focus here shifts to breakfast and lunch breaks, drawing on a passion for studying dough and (long) leavening techniques, and combining it with a well-managed café. A commendable range of pastries spans croissants with jams and creams (the pistachio version is exquisite) and braids with cooked cream. At lunch, pan pizzas (margherita or topped) are accompanied by burgers and salads, but you can also enjoy a mid-afternoon snack: sliced desserts, single-serving treats and biscuits. The aroma of freshly baked bread floods the room (there are at least 3 or 4 types, different every week), tastefully furnished and carefully decorated. A relaxing outdoor dining area is also available.
