Even if it had been making its way with continuous improvements, additions to staff (both in the kitchen and in the dining room) and progress in terms of quality, the still relatively new venue Local was also among the many restaurants that suffered of late, primarily because of a lack of business. But it has since relaunched with energy, bringing new life to this secluded and quiet corner of Venice, situated just a stone's throw from the chaos of the city. Now that the tourists are around again, Matteo Tagliapietra's dishes relive: mullet, watermelon, wasabi and seaweed, the legendary "Marco's tomato" (Marco being an extraordinary local producer), their fantastic risotto with gò, Nori seaweed and katsuobushi, and the Milk and Honey. Additionally, they offer guests a worthy, well-researched wine list to choose from and tasting menus that run from 95 to 130 (38 to 65 at lunch). Service that's up to the task.
