After more than half a century of activity, this pastry shop and café (situated on the city outskirts) continues to be a popular stop for a delicious breakfast, its sumptuous cakes and quality holiday baked goods. A clean and modern style makes for a small space that offers mostly traditional recipes skilfully prepared with authentic ingredients, starting with superb breakfast pastries that will put a smile on your face in the morning (not to mention their excellent risini and braids). Their assortment of petits fours ranges from dry sweets (like their "baci di Giulietta" cookies and puff pastries) to multi-layered items (their exquisite "Russian cake" and sbrisolona are also recommended). Lovely creations for ceremonies, all decorated with care and elegance. Their assortment of Italian holiday classics is notable. Try their soft and lemony Agostin (also available in a wholemeal version with Muscovado sugar and semi-candied apricots), soft and tasty panettone, veneziana, colomba and the soft Avola (made with Avola almonds and pistachios, it's also ideal for those intolerant to gluten and lactose). The shop is well stocked and nicely cared for, offering dry pastries, macarons, chocolate, "credenza" sweets (they'll keep well in your pantry) and a few good bottles of wine and beer. Courteous and attentive service. During summer you can also take advantage of a few outdoor tables.
