For four generations, the Grasso familynow Giulio and Luciana, along with their daughters Paola, Valentina, and Federicahas passionately managed the various plots that make up their estate. Their vineyards are divided between Treiso, around the winery, and Barbaresco, with vines going back anywhere from 25-40 years in Asili and Pora (Barbaresco), Vallegrande and Marcarini (Treiso). International grape varieties such as chardonnay and riesling are also grown. Among the various estate Barbarescos, the Vallegrande Viti Vecchie Riserva '18 shines, revealing mature fruit and a delicate spiciness on the nose. The palate is austere, but full-bodied, with well-integrated tannins and significant structure for the vintage. The Autinbej '20 showcases elegance on the nose despite its youth, and a palate still marked by tannins, but still long and rich in fruit. The balanced and fruit-forward Pora '19 also performs well.
