Caudrina

Description

The Dogliotti family, founders of Caudrina, boasts vineyards that go back, on average, more than forty years, rooted in the marl-limestone terroir typical of the region. Based in Castiglione Tinella, they primarily focus on local varietals: moscato, barbera, nebbiolo, and dolcetto. In Ottiglio Monferrato, they cultivate their sole international grape, chardonnay. Varietal stamping and aromatic precision are hallmarks of the winery's production style. The Dogliotti family presents a commendable lineup. The Barbera d'Asti La Solista '21 evokes black fruits, rain-soaked earth, and Mediterranean shrub, while the palate is delightful and juicy. The Piemonte Chardonnay Mej '22 has an intense nose, with spicy notes, followed by a crisp and easy-drinking palate. The Monferrato Nebbiolo Sfacciato Facia ‘d Tola ‘21 proves firm and mouthfilling, playing on hints of quinine, cherry, and aromatic herbs. The Piemonte Barbera La Guerriera '22 is as smooth and pleasant as a sparkling Barbera should be.
