Famiglia Cecchi

Description

Founded in 1893 by Luigi Cecchi, this winery has come to serve as a cornerstone of national wine production. In 1961, it purchased Villa Cerna in Castellina in Chianti, and by the late 1980s, the winery's "fattorie" project had become a major priority. The acquisition of Castello di Montauto in San Gimignano followed in 1989, then Maremma's Val delle Rose in 1996. The year 2000 saw the purchase of Tenuta Alzatura in Montefalco and, in 2015, Villa Rosa (also in Castellina in Chianti). The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Villa Rosa '19 features more floral aromas than fruity, with smoky and undergrowth hints. In the mouth, the wine has a slender but multifaceted profile, with rhythm, ending on a deep finish. The Chianti Classico Storia di Famiglia '21 opts for fruity and spicy aromas. The palate has pleasantly spirited tannins that guide a fresh and sapid progression of flavor.
