Description

Elena and Claudio Farina lead one of Valpolicella's historic wineries, and from the outset, the fresh direction they would take has been evident. Today, visiting the facilities in Pedemonte offers tangible proof of the power of innovation, all while remaining deeply rooted in tradition and the world of agriculture. Ten hectares of estate vineyards are complemented by another 55 overseen by a select group of growers, ensuring meticulous control over cultivation. In its debut, the Alessandro '20 garnered significant attention. It's a Valpolicella Superiore that prioritizes elegance over power: no grape drying and slow maturation in Slavonian oak and concrete. The result is a fresh aromatic profile that plays on the contrast between ripe cherry and notes of pepper and rosehip. On the palate, it's juicy, with a smooth progression. The Amarone Montefante '17, however, exhibits a wealth of super-ripe fruit on a full yet supple palate.
