If the celebrated "Conca d'Oro" of Panzano is widely recognized as one of the best areas of the Chianti Classico appellation, its reputation is largely due to the winery owned by the Manetti family since 1968. The Manettis have been instrumental in promoting an authentic interpretation of the district's sangiovese. Beginning with outstanding grapes sourced from organic viticulture, and with wines mainly aged in small wood barrels, they produce wines that demonstrate personality and power but also exhibit a highly elegant chiaroscuro. The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Terrazze di San Leolino '20 plays on fragrant aromas of undergrowth, aromatic herbs, and red fruits. In the mouth, the palate is well focused and intensely sapid, with a broad finish and balsamic hints. The Chianti Classico '20, which features aromas of ripe small red fruits and smoky hints, proves supple and enjoyably drinkable. We also enjoyed the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna del Sorbo '20, a powerful and compact wine.
