Gini

Description

Describing Sandro and Claudio Gini's winery means delving into Soave's history. This Veronese appellation boasts whites that can age gracefully, maintaining their elegance and identity. The brothers' estate, which occupies some of the territory's best positions, and winemaking skills, play equal roles in the winery's success. Alongside their Soave offerings, considerable attention is given to the Campiano region, where the grapes for their Valpolicella thrive. This year the most intriguing results come from the dark hills of Monteforte d'Alpone, with a more than convincing version of the Salvarenza. The 2021 harvest bestowed an especially fresh aromatic profile, with white fruit meeting flowers, and a subtle minerality lying in wait, poised to burst forth. The palate is sapid and slender, finishing on a lovely citrus note. The Col Foscarin '16 is an exuberant, exotic, and enticing Recioto where sweetness melds with a lovely savory note.
