Annette Hilberg and Michele Pasquero (Miclo to his friends) have been managing their winery in Bricco Gatti, just above Priocca, for more than 20 years. The vineyards, which are situated all around the main property, and in Monteforche and Bricco Stella, are home exclusively to traditional red grape varieties (barbera, brachetto, dolcetto, and nebbiolo). The wines they produce are highly original, simultaneously traditional and personal, crafted to make the most of the grapes and the territory. The wines presented put in a solid and reliable overall performance. The Roero Val Martín 18 particularly convinced us with its aromas of rosemary and cherry, exhibiting nice length and freshness, culminating in a juicy, pleasant finish. The well-crafted Vareij 22, a blend of brachetto and barbera, stands out for its pronounced aromas, energetic character, and fruity essence. The full-bodied and voluminous Barbera d'Alba Superiore Mon Seij 20 manifests varietal tones of wet earth and spices, while the close-knit and tannic Nebbiolo d'Alba Superiore Mon Surì 20 offers notes of thyme and blackberry.
