For about two decades, the Bellini brothers have been carving out a space for themselves in northern Piedmont. Their journey began in 2003 when Marco purchased a historic estate previously owned by the Marchesi La Marmora and Quario families (among the first to champion the region's wines). Davide joined him a bit later on. The winery is named after its most prestigious vineyard, known for producing highly aromatic grapes from which the brothers craft their flagship wine, Lessona. This year, too, we're wholly convinced. The 2019 pours a bright ruby-red, releasing scents of tobacco, licorice, leather, and a potpourri of roses and violets. The palate is harmonious, unfolding gradually, adorned with silky tannins and a long finish. The Muntacc 20, a bright garnet red, plays on aromas of rhubarb, roots, and humus. The palate is crisp, harmonious, with close-knit and flavorful tannins. The Corinna '22 is noteworthy for its mineral profile and aromatic freshness.
