Set on the western edge of the Euganean Hills, Monte Versa is one of the most interesting territories in the entire appellation, a soft humpback that stretches west and hosts vineyards that face north, west and south. The Voltazza family acquired ownership of the estate in the early aughts, 25 contiguous hectares surrounding their small headquarters. The possibility of such different positions allows the best suited grape to be chosen for each plot. The sunlit, south-facing vineyards allow for the near-perfect ripening of cabernet sauvignon, which with the 2019 harvest gives life to a red of great depth. On the nose, the fruit stands out clear and pulpy against a backdrop of medicinal herbs and spices, only to emerge even more present and sweet on the palate, where its tight-knit tannic weave lends rigor and energy. Also very promising is the Manzoni Bianco Animaversa '22, captivating for its fruity richness and dynamism of flavor.
