Well-known for producing white truffles and high-quality hazelnuts, in recent years, Pedemontis has ventured into winemaking, crafting a small range of wines in Roero. With a strong commitment to sustainable farming and a closed-loop production system, the producer oversees 13 hectares of vineyards in Magliano Alfieri, Castellinaldo, Priocca, and Govone, all set on Roero's classic sandy soils. Here, they grow the region's traditional grapes, from arneis to favorita, nebbiolo and barbera. The Barbera d'Alba Superiore Betlem '21 is expansive on the nose, with its black fruit and underbrush tones. In the mouth it aptly balances body and acidity, with fine tannins and an energetic, enjoyable finish. The Roero Arneis Arajs '21, with its scents of yellow fruit, aromatic herbs, and white flowers, proves fresh and sapid, ending in a long, spirited finish. The wholly quaffable Barbera d'Alba Bajet '21 is also well crafted, spicy with raspberry notes.
